DidItMakeTheNEWS - BACKLASH

"Genreal Muhammadu Buhari once ruled Nigeria for 20 months (January 1984-August 1985). It was such a short time that he appeared not to have fully understood Nigeria and it's people. In contrast, he's successor, General Ibrahim Babangida, who ruled for 8 years, once boasted that he knows Nigeria very well.

Buhari's lack of knowledge about Nigerians have been demonstrated in his reaction to the Presidential election which he lost to Olusegun Obasanjo. Thundering (Mass action) and anarchy come 29 may, Buhari expected aggrieved politicians to rally round him and heed his clarion call to war. but he must have been sharply disappointed.

His sabre-rattling is being ignored even by his fellow party members who insist that the law must be followed and denounced his call for Mass Action. leaders of other parties who initially backed Buahri's stance have also a volte face. No one wants trouble. Nigeria must move forward.

Buahri is being told to embark on his mass action all alone. No Governor or representative it seems, wants to risk losing his seat in the possible anarchy or military interventions that may follow Buhari's mass action.

The mood of the nation seems to be, "let's accept the result of the election, warts and all." let's move on despite proven fraud. What a Country! What a people!" - TheNEWS Vol. 20 No. 19

In 2003, Buhari was left all alone to his machinations, the present state of the 8th National Assembly and his Inaugural statement " I am for Everybody, I am for Nobody" pres-supposes a lone-ranger approach to ending all grievance, Will it be a mother of all Mass Action" a rambo style now that he is in Power?
